Comics workshop - gadgets, time travel and technology

Last week's comics workshop concentrated on character development, and this week we've moved on to start thinking about Back To The Future, time travel and technology to coincide with the Jason Bradbury illustration.

New additions are appearing very slowly between comics workshops, small commissions and other work commitments! Jason has travelled to the Brayford Pool in the 1950s, to the Engine Shed in the 1980s, and opposite the present day University on Brayford Wharf North.

Some interesting concepts are emerging, with metal dragons that travel through portals, an iphone 12, time travel drink, and hover motorbikes.

Time travel drink by Rebecca
These two examples by Rebecca, age 10, were of a digital pen, an iphone 12, and a time travel drink.
I scanned in Rebecca's original drawing, cleaned up the line in Photoshop and added some colour. Having watched tutorials about Levels and not quite figuring them out, I tend to find the easiest way to do this is to select the black colour of the sketch outline and copy and paste into a new layer, then add a black stroke outline. I watched someone scan in a drawing then redraw the outline again, which seems a huge waste of time.

It now looks ready to be included as the first image in a time travel comic strip adventure!
