A-ha adventures in Oslo 2016 - Objects In the Rear View Mirror

This Bank Holiday weekend I had tickets to go and see iconic comic band A-ha live at Oslo Spektrum - during a Norwegian hotel staff strike.
On the way to the airport was a perfect excuse to spend an afternoon in London to hunt out some comics.... It just so happened that arrival / parking happened to be close to a certain cafe near Vauxhall Bridge - for the uninitiated, this is the cafe location of A-ha's Take On Me video:

Back in 2010, during their farewell tour, I gave Morten an original copy of The Unreal God And Aspects Of His Non-Existent Universe from my fine art degree show in 2008.
I only have two copies of the 2011 updated comic that featured in a solo show at Alley Cafe in Nottingham, an auction in Brighton, and Towser Zine Library at Hebden Bridge left.

No hand emerged - it was in Luxembourg at the time!

After lunch, and not being chased by The Hairy Bikers and sausages  it was time to head down to Kings Cross to find Comix Creatrix to lament the non-inclusion of The Unreal God And Aspects Of His Non-Existent Universe in this exhib
- haters need to go and get some hyggelig....

The £7 entry fee is off-putting to comics creators... but I had to get used to paying entry fees for Oslo...

Most notable highlights were Josceline Fenton
 @mildtarantula
Isabel Greenberg's Encyclopaedia Of Early Earth
and Roz Chast's Visions Of God 2014
with lots of others (including Tove Jansson's original Moomin sketches)

Big shout out to @davidwynne and meeting fellow comics creators during flight delays at Gatwick airport - pleased the suggestion to find Pushwagner whilst in Oslo was much appreciated :-)

Velkommen til Norge - landing in snowy Oslo after a delayed flight

Due to hotel staff strikes, I booked an apartment from Norwegian hosts Cathrine and Håkon in Grønland only a ten minute walk from Oslo Sentralstasjon, for the hyggelig.

Door Ajar - Dooo do-do!

It has been a particular desire to get my little (Norwegian pattern) mitts on this for some time for laerer Norsk.

Since I last visited back in 2012, this large Pushwagner mural er ny

A-ha have incorporated the comic book artwork from Take On Me during their live shows for the Cast In Steel Tour
